Economy remaps - Get the best possible fuel economy from your vehicle

What is remapping?

ECU Remapping is a way of fine tuning the vehicle’s ‘brain’ to make it perform more efficiently. All vehicles have an ECU (Engine Control Unit) and the data file stored on the ECU tells the engine how to run. What we do is reconfigure the software on the ECU, either by connecting to the vehicle’s OBD (On-Board Diagnostic) port, or connecting directly to the ECU. We can improve a vehicle’s fuel economy by up to 15%, or increase power by up to 40% using these methods. Remapping is sometimes known as chip tuning, which is an old method of tuning.

Will a remap make my vehicle less reliable?

No, not when done properly by a company such as ourselves. Our remaps are designed specifically to improve the performance of your vehicle whilst remaining retaining

Sadly, in attempt to achieve ‘big numbers’ some other companies over tune engines, placing excessive stress on the engine, transmission, cooling systems, etc, leading to reduced life span and reliability of the vehicle. We pride ourselves in producing reliable remaps which do not over stress your powertrain but still produce impressive results. Anyone can perform well in a sprint, what matters is the marathon.

Can my vehicle be returned to standard?

Absolutely. We offer this service free of charge if the vehicle is brought back to us. We’ll be very surprised if that’s what you want after taking one of our remap products, however in the case of lease cars some customers prefer to put the car back to standard before returning the car. You might want it back to standard if you are visiting a dealer for warranty or service work, again we will do this for free. Should you lose your tuning files due to dealer actions or parts failure we will be happy to re-install the map onto your car free of charge where possible. We're a reasonable bunch - just ask!

What happens in the unlikely scenario that I'm not happy with my remap?

If you're unhappy with the software we've applied to your vehicle, please let us know within 30 days and we'll reinstall your factory software free of charge* - and give you a full refund! Refunds will not be given until the factory software has been reapplied to the vehicle.

*For "Stage 2" or higher, we require that we're given a chance to rectify any issues first purely due to the time we've already invested into the vehicle. If you're still not happy after this, then the 30 day refund period still applies. Refunds only apply to the remap/labour associated with the remap and not for any other services carried out at the same time.

Do I need to tell my insurance?

Whilst the remap is undetectable to dealer equipment (VWAG vehicles excluded), you should notify your insurance company of any modification to your vehicle. Many insurance companies do not penalise you for upgrades of this nature, particularly if you’re tuning for increased economy. However a failure to disclose modifications may invalidate your policy and leave you in a sticky situation. We recommend customers speak to their insurer prior to any works taking place.
